[SOLVED] HDD optane slowing down

So i installed a cracked game, but it kinda failed, so i decided to delete the game. There was uninstall option in the game folder but i didnt use it and instead just delete the whole game file.

Now my disk is always on 100% usage and reading/writing really slowly. Its only about 300kbps read and 50 kbps write. Can someone help me.

Im disabling my optane memory, and until now it is still not done yet.

And left behind whatever malware and/or virus came with that cracked game.

Your whole system is compromised. Time for a full wipe and reinstall.

I would do file search for the cracked game and manually uninstall every file it comes up with related to that game. Cracked games are notorious for placing trojans and virus's in your system. I would do a thorough virus and malware check right away. In task manager it should show you what processes are causing your disc to run at 100%

Okay so, quick update. I disabled my optane and re enable it. It seems like most of the problem is gone. So its only a software bug to prevent optane to use its maximum speed... thanks for all the quick reply and help. I'll definitely look a bit closer and carefully do stuff with my laptop.

If using that is a common activity for you, the only advice you'll get here is a full wipe and reinstall.
This will wipe out whatever viruses and malware were included with that pirated software.

Beyond that, Tom's Hardware does not provide any assistance for pirated software.
