is it normal that my disk usage randomly jumps to 70-100% when surfing in chrome ive been thinking if that is slowing down my computer because after i bought new mobo and cpu my computer sometimes runs very slow on windows . Or does anyone got better ideas
my specs:
mobo: msi gaming 5
cpu i5 4690k
ram 8gb 1333mhz
gpu asus nvidia gt 440 (because my r9 280 broke)
hdd 250gb x2 WD
OS: Windows 7 ultimate x64

Maybe something is automatically installing or something?
After updating Avira, my HDD still runs at 100% even after the installation is complete. Then it gradually goes down.
I think it could also be windows automatically using your HDD to store stuff which you regularly use in your RAM for faster access.

Have you made sure that you have no viruses or anything?
Try Advanced System Care 8 (completely free, no trial, #1 on CNET for utilities and paid version for extra features). It's an all in one optimizer, cleans cache, junk files, disk errors, malware, etc and i think it updates windows too.

Also download Seatools for windows, it works for any HDD. The long generic scan takes 3.5 hours, maybe try that overnight or something.

ive scanned my whole computer with advancedsystemcare but it does not help

Have you thought about investing in a small SSD to install your OS onto? and use the HDDs for storage, and installing other programs. Small SSDs i.e. 60GB or 120GB are relativity cheap now, and will boost your system speed considerably.

What about trying Seatools to make sure your HDD/s are running good??

test says that everything is allright do you got any other ideas why this pc runs slow

yes im planning to buy a ssd but how can i be sure that hdd is the problem

If you have been using these hard drives for a while now without formatting them, then undoubtedly they will be somewhat fragmented, and probably have bunches of data scattered all over them. This would be the cause of constant seeking and usage. Have you been able to run a Defrag on them?

formatted both about a week ago

Go into Task Manager - ctrl+shift+esc
Select the Processes tab
Select the View menu item, then select the Select columns menu item.
Select I/O Reads and I/O Other, then click OK to accept those changes.
Select the "Show processes for all users" button in the lower left of the window.
Resize the Task Manager window so you can see all the columns.
Double click on the I/O Reads column header (to sort by that column)
Look for values that are excessively high in the I/O Reads or I/O Other.

Check which process is using the highest I/O readings. What is it? Probably Chrome?

not yet should i run windows defrag

csrss.exe iss using 280 291

I'm not sure how well Windows Defrag works, try Iobit Smart Defrag 3.
Also, Advanced System Care 8 does some defragging too, so your HDD shouldn't be fragmented that bad.

Fragmentation Before 23,88%
Fragmentation After 1,76%

Using which program?
Provide more information than just a few words please. We're trying to help you and you don't even put in much effort at all.
If you used the full scan on Advanced System Care regularly, you would never have gotten to almost 24% fragmentation. That's most likely your issue. Even over 1% is too much and can slow down your PC.

sorry. i used a program that was just called disk defrag. And looks like it helped because the disk isnt now jumping to 100% randomly. but my computer is still running kind a slow works normal ingame but when surfing on internet sites loads slow checked network speed with speedtest and it shows normal 15mb download 1mb upload. and this started after i bought msi gaming 5 and i5-4690k. ill try to defrag with iobit smart defrag now and see what happens
