HDMI for PC look terrible on Technika TV

I should probably mention i am using an NVIDIA GeForce 210.
My TV is a Technika LCD19-907, and It is connected via a DVI to HDMI cable now. This causes the resolution to look a tad too big and text hard to read. However it was perfectly fine using a VGA cable with PC as the source.

I looked up your TV on the Technika website. Your TV only supports a Native Resolution of 1024X768. What resolution are you using with the DVI-HDMI cable? If it's not set at 1024X768 then you are not going to get the best image quality despite the fact that the specs say it can do 1080i, 720p, 576p, 576i, 480p, 480i. All of those resolutions have to be scaled to 1024X768.

1024 x 768 and a 16:9 aspect ratio (wide screen) will look terrible. As 1024 x 768 resolution is a 4:3 stretched to 16:9.

Nothing will look correct on this display without cropping.

thanks, the current resolution is set at 1768 x 992 , i tried it on 1024x768 the text was bigger but equally blocky and about a fifth of the display area had been chopped off on each side. Guess il stick with 1798x992 or the recommended (1920 x 1080) for now, its not bothering me too much now im a bit more used to it

I dont know about nvidia, but im using HDMI to HDMI to use my 39 inch LED TV as the monitor with a HIS HD 7770 GHz, when i first fired it up with the new TV it framed it in the tv, about 1/2 inch of black space. Going into the catalyst control center there was an option to reduce/induce underscanning and it was set to 10% underscan so i put it at 0% and it filled up my TV. Like i said i dont know if Nvidia has a driver control suite, im betting they do, but it might be set to overscan it by a little bit.
