D danny2000 Splendid Sep 14, 2010 2,523 0 21,460 Sep 28, 2012 #3 The display is showing on the laptop's screen, but not on the external monitor? if that is the case, try holding-down the Fn key on the laptop AND also the F5 or F6 key (usually there is a monitor-like symbol on the key).
