Is it possible for HDMI to output at higher than 60 Hz? If I lower the resolution and stuff. Not sure which generation of HDMI I got though, I got it together with my graphics card in 2014.

I'm talking about 75 Hz or so instead of only 60 Hz, not 120 Hz

I believe HDMI does allow output at >60Hz, however most monitors (even ones that support 60+Hz, and I don't think there's many of those with HDMI) don't advertise it so you'd have to set a custom resolution.

HDMI 1.4 should support 1080p@120Hz, but your display either doesn't, or doesn't tell the PC it does..
