Question hdmi to displayport cable that supports 240hz

i have a 240hz monitor that only supports 240hz over displayport is there any way to have a cable that will still support 240hz.
hdmi 2.0 supports 240hz @1080p
displayport 1.3 and 1.4 supports 240hz @1080p
i have a laptop that will run my game at 300+ fps and i want to take advantage of that but it doesnt have a display port it only has hdmi 2.0
would i have to get an active hdmi to display port cable and then just get a displayport 1.4 and run it to the monitor

There are no adapters like that yet as far as I've seen, but have a chat with these guys:

it says that it is for displayport on pc and hdmi to monitor and i need it the other way around and one of the reviews said it didnt work for 144hz @1080
