I have an all in one pc from Viglen with a Hannspree HX193 Monitor attached to it.
Originally the display was connected by vga, but i wanted to use the vga port for another computer. The only other port on this monitor was a DVI-D input.
I bought an amazon basics HDMI to DVI-D cable, for use with this machine, I plugged it in, select DVI source and there is nothing.
I have tested both the dvi to hdmi cable and the hdmi port on the system and both work just fine, so I've ruled out the dvi or the hdmi port being broken, same with the cable.
Im very confused, the amazon basics cable works with my laptop, the hdmi port on the all in one works with my hdmi monitor...
what could this possibly be?
could it be hdmi versions? my laptop has hdmi 2.0 support but the pc only has hdmi 1.4 support.
Could this be the difference?
