I have a lenovo flex 14 and recently bought a 3440x1440p panel (Acer ED347ckr)

I connected it to my laptop via HDMI to dual link dvi but the max resoluition windows is letting me go to is 1920x1080p

I tried restarting it, but the highest resolution is still 16:9 1080p (it's stretched)

help please

DVI single link 60-Hz LCD can display a resolution of 1920 x 1200, while a DVI dual link can display a resolution of 2560 x 1600

which translates to:
single link DVI : 2.304.000 pixels
dual link DVI : 4.096.000 pixels

3440x1440 needs 4.953.600 pixels

since u can see only 1080p then u have single link DVI
u can use custom resolution to keep your monitor aspect ratio (43:18)
1920x804
for next resolution step up (2560x1072) u will need dual link DVI

Can you set Hz on your laptop to 24Hz (If 30Hz isn't an option) to test? Single Link DVI can do 3440*1440 but at 30Hz.

Have a look here on info about adapters and refresh rates. I'm not sure about now but don't think Hdmi to DVI Dual Link adapters exist. Or if it is advertised as such, it could be fake, as in, some of the pins to make it dual aren't actually wired inside the plug. There's mention of this in the link below.

Another idea. Have you tried a Hdmi cable? Because according to the monitor's manual, both Hdmi 2 and DP can do 100Hz. If your Laptop has Hdmi 2, try it out.

From manual;
QXGA3440*1440 100(HDMI/DP)Hz

Turns out HDMI to sci dual link still only single link because of HDMI or something.

Ok guys so giant problem. I uninstalled my Intel driver on my laptop while following some guide.

My laptop screen is broken, and I was relying on the monitor. But any monitor I connect to, it disconnects. I'm not sure what's happening. This happened after I locked it.

See if this helps, hopefully your laptop has a reset pin hole as well and also hoping the external monitor displays during this process.

How badly damaged is the screen? Is it still somewhat viewable to see what you're doing if ext monitor doesn't show a display during reset?

It's not working at all. I was just planning to use the laptop with a monitor screen and it was working. But the when I uninstalled the Intel graphics driver it stopped connecting to the display. The ultrawide would shut off if connecred to the laptop.

Ok so I found the factory reset hole, but no matter how long I hold it, nothing happens. I tried to power it off and hold it, then did it while it's on. But it still won't connect to the monitor

Looks like the laptop screen is required then. You could try guess the buttons and see what happens. The guy held the pin in for three seconds on his second attempt, if you can get this far, try follow his button presses.

It's not the exact model laptop though so 'hopefully' Lenovo has the same style of recovery on most of it's products.

Yup it isn't as advertised. Apparently it only uses a single link when connected to HDMI, even though it looks like a dual link connection

Ok. I switched on Windows narrorator. Every time I try to reset the PC, it goes to "keep my files"

I cant see my mouse. How do I make it delete my files and factory reset?
