I want to play my Xbox One on my monitor but my monitor doesn't have a HDMI port only the standard DVI and VGA ports. If i buy a HDMI to DVI cable would i be able to get the display from my Xbox One to my monitor? And since it is DVI would the resolution be different? The one i am thinking of getting is: http://

Edit: My monitor is 1680x1050

Alright. Generally it should work, because DVI is also a standard on newer technologies. Go ahead and try it, I am pretty sure it will work and that the percentage of it not working is about little to none.
I have a feeling it won't work. I haven't tried it though.
I have a laptop and I was staying at my Aunt's house for an extended amount of time and would of preferred to use the TV to play games on. In the end I ordered HDMI to VGA and it simply wouldn't connect. I expected that maybe the cable was faulty but I did a bit of research and says that GPU must support the connection.
It might be different with the XBox 1 but it most likely won't connect to the monitor. Sorry.
