Headphone is attached,computer detects it but sound is not coming from it

I just attached the headphone in the front slot,my computer has detected it but sound isn't coming from the headphone.

If you are running windows 7 do this.

Right click on the speaker icon next to the time.

Click on playback devices.

A window will open showing you all of the audio devices connected.

Speakers:
Headphones:

Right click on headphones, and select as default audio device from the menu.

Use the same method to get sound back to your speakers if you have any by setting them as the default audio device.

If it does not work then the front panel audio leads may not be connected to the motherboard inside the case if it is a tower system.
So you may have to open up the case to check if it is the problem.

Have you tried going to Control Panel>Sound and then setting the headphones to default device??

Actually, have the same problem. I set to default and everything, but it still does not work, I can hear from hearbuds, speakers, but not my headset

Plug In the Head Phone and follow these steps.
Go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound
Choose Headphones -> Set as Default Device
Now your head phone will play sounds, if it is disconnected then speakers will play sounds.

Seriously. We know about default devices. It still doesn't work. This happens everytime I restart my PC
