The mouse only? Yes.

Even if the mouse were to get wet, USB ports should shut off to protect the hardware etc.

Unless you've actually noticed a problem since this happened, you're fine.

The worst thing that could happen would be for the buttons/wheel to get sticky,if a damp cloth could harm them then sweaty palms would harm them and every mouse would be breaking down all the time.

However it feels very sticky. Would it dry out? if not how can i remove the stickyness because it really is frustrating . Also my keyboard feels sticky.

Cleans plastic surfaces without stripping away any coatings, spray on a lint free cloth so it's a bit damp and clean away. It does wonders for laptop and monitor screens that get dirty from the screen pokers at work.

i use amonia free windex and microfiber cleaning cloths. i only use straight water and a paper towel on my mouse. tho that is cause im not sure if any cleaning product would harm the coating on it and made the soft rubber on mouse change texture

Yes if you have the soft feel rubber on the mouse that is pretty easy to mess up with cleaning it.

If what you tried did not work and you have one of those rubberized mice you probably can't fix the one you have, the material is messed up.
