Hi guys i just accidentally break one of the capacitors on the mobo while unscrewing the heatsink
will you plz tell me the exact function of this highlighted block coz nothing went wrong till now system is smooth and running like it was before.
Thanks in advance

Solution
That is part of the VRM, Voltage Regulation Module, for the processor.
Not a good thing.
It regulates and supplies power to the processor.
Depending on design it may boot and run fine until stressed or it may not boot at all.
Replacing it if fairly simple with a small soldering iron and a little solder. Just make sure you get the polarity correct. The board and capacitor should be marked for + or - or both.

what exactly did u damage? the little round white/blue things? or one of the two rectangle black things? those are part of the processor power delivery system. the black rectangles are called chokes and they're used for filtering the frequency of power. and circles are capacitors and they're used for stabilizing the flow of current. if you could get a picture of your actual motherboard so we can see the extent of damage. if the system is still working then you obviously must not have damaged it to the point of where it doesn't work. i would just be thankful and more careful next time

The one in red marking got hit by screw driver and one point got disconnected but put it back on point and pressed it a little its working booting but after 7 mints on prime 95 it got completely stuck... i was afraid that these capacitors are near CPU socket god forbid they are for CPU and that happened the most F-ed up part i'm running it on 3.8 Gigs its Q6600 core2quad 2.4 on stock. voltage! the word is a nuke on me i have to change it i think coz i don't wanna compromise my backup rig. Thanks alot for replies if you have any other suggestion plz advice.
