Hey all

I am stuck with a difficult choice, should I try to build a silent pc or buy a pre-build like a IcePipe A40?

http://www.quietpc.com/sys-a40-z77

The IcePipe A40 cost about 1000£, which must be about 1800$.

If I what to build it, which components should I use to build a silent or near silent gaming PC?

I look forward to your suggestions

Best regards

Antec P280 case
intel i4 processor
motherboard with a Z77 chip set
graphics card with the Gigabyte windforce triple fan cooler
scythe ninja cpu cooler set to the low speed range

You wont be able to hear it in a normal living environment

The link you gave is for a machine with no graphics card , and wont game . Adding a graphics card to such an open mesh case will mean its noisy

my bad , A typo

Intel i5
an i5 3550 if you wont overclock
a 3570K if you will

Usually graphics cards with passive coolers rely on the case fans to keep air moving past them . In a case with no fans I would be surprised if even a 7750 would run at cool enough temperatures .
And it wont game particularly well

Another option is to move the computer further away . A USB keyboard and mouse should work at a distance of 5.5 meters , and so will a DVI link to a monitor
