[SOLVED] HELP.. Can you make a Thunderbolt port ??

I have a Mid 2010 Macbook Pro and I dont have Thunderbolt or a USB 3 port.

My question is I know I can take out the optical CD rom drive and convert to a 2nd HD.
But can I go from the SATA and make a thunderbolt or usb3 port i know it would have enough power. But is it possible??

I want to purchase a Apollo Twin X Audio interface but I have two options Thunderbolt Type C / or Windows USB3. I'm just trying to figure out how I could use it with my older Macbook Pro..

You can't convert SATA to TB or USB3, in the same way you can't strap Shuttle engine onto Honda. Neither electrically, not driver-wise.

So if I take out my optical drive on my Macbook pro and I could actually put this card in and I would be set ?

So trying to hook that card up where I unhook the optical drive in my macbook wouldn't work ?

But they do make a SATA Hard drive cable to PCI E 1x cable. So I couldn't hook that up and then hook that cable to that card ?

Back to your original question: Have you asked the manufacturer whether that $1000 peripheral will work when connected to ordinary USB 2.0 interface? I doubt they need 10gbps interface for such a simple task as audio processing.

SATA cannot be adapter to PCIe.
You can stick a SATA controller in a PCIe slot, but not vice versa.
