Hello,

my PC is : MO H110-D3a - SSD Kingstone UV400 120GB - 4 GB Ram - MSI 570 Armor plugged directly into Motherboard - and 1 empty Riser connected to Motherboard

Yesterday, I touched the metal pins of the Riser with a metal Vacum by fault while the pc is running, but nothing happened, My PC still running about 5 hours perfectly (surfing web and Mining without any problem), after 5 hours I get some errors like gpu disabled, I restarted pc and re-enabled it, and it worked, after that I get some error and computer restarts few times, and Stuck in Repair mode boot loop (Black screen with cursor), I tried to restart few times, and tried to install fresh win 10 from USB, but some times it shows me Blue screen with cursor while start installation, I success to remove the black screen and show options to repair windows, but all options failed, I tried to connect my SSD to another laptop, and rescue some files, I found some files get damaged like(windows folder), so, I run CHKdisk utility and repair the SSD, I'm also found that there is a 500MB primary recover partion and have tried to format it.

Now, I can't install new win 10 (Blue screen with cursor while start installation) even when I try to change the UEFI to Legacy nothing happen, also, my SSD refuse to connect to my laptop, it start to appear and disappear few times, but the 500mb primary partition can appear and format, the ssd can boot into repair mode but shows black screen again and options don't appear.

Is my SSD get damaged?? how to repair it?

Thank you

Solution
Check the SSD with the Kingston tool, eventually update the firmware of it (backup data before)

check the memory by running memtest.org usb autoinstaller (bootable USB flash drive)

Could be a faulty SATA data or power cable as well
the 500MB partition is needed to boot windows.

Just delete all partitions while installing windows, so that you only have one drive completely unformatted (not allocated). Windows will create the needed partitions itself.

Which BSOD are you getting?

Disconnect the empty riser

I disconnected the empty riser, also I removed RX570 Gpu from motherboard,

When I connect SSD and boot from USB the installation screen dosn't start ( it shows blue blank screen with cursor when I press shift+ F10 it shows cmd, and check disks I don't found my SSD)

when I try to connect external HDD to USB and try to install Win 10, the setup works normally and HDD appears in Setup

the SSD can boot in repair mode (also shows Black blank screen with cursor without any error)

get into the BIOS
Is the SSD shown there?

Try a different SATA port and SATA data cable. Eventually use a different SATA power connector from the PSU.

reset the BIOS by jumper

I've tried every thing but I failed, finally I connected the SSD to my laptop with Sata to usb, first time I rescued some files as I mentioned before, but a lot of my data get damaged and lost, after running the windows Check disk, it fixes the damaged data by deleting it, after that, the SSD couldn't be connected to the laptop, it get flashing appear and disappear in my computer. after some trying to connect it I succeed to format it by luck while it disappearing. after that I could resume setup of win 10, but I had to make the SSD as Mbr with CMD. Now, my SSD works fine.

my question is, Why the SSD (Kingstone UV400 120GB ) damage my files?

Why it damage your files? it did not. You did when you thought sticking a metal vacuum into a running PC was a good idea. Don't do that! You're very lucky, you could have fried the entire PC.
Anytime you want to work inside your PC. Shut it down and either turn off the switch on the back of the PSU or unplug it from the power cord. PC's are never really off anymore. They just sit there in a very low power mode waiting for you to press the power button - this is even true if you select Power >Shutdown.

Yes, I think that the metal vacuum may cause the problem, but my PC still running well for 5 hours later after the metal vacuum accident ( Mining and surfing web ), after that I've noticed rare strange behavior like (VGA driver failed, restarting windows a lot of times led me to get stuck in repairing mode, then my data started to get damaged, then partition C: get unreadable), Until I've succeed to format the SSD with AOMEI Partition Assistant

Check the SSD with the Kingston tool, eventually update the firmware of it (backup data before)

Thanks for Advice, Now, my Pc works fine, Am I need to update my SSD firmware??
