hi.
I was recently told to purchase an ATI graphics card.
Also so you know I have always used EVGA GTX so i know nothing about ATI.
i will use it for gaming, not worried about maxing everything out. I just don't want lag or slow game play when a lot is happening at once.

guild wars2 / dragons age origins / diablo 3 / AND SUCH

watch movies // Maximum Resolution 1440 x 900 // I will upgrade much later.

i5-750 / asus sabertooth / G.SKILL Ripjaws Series /

must have pixel shader /// I will never use crossfire.

these are the ones i need to choose from. Or around the 200$ mark OR UNDER.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME

WITH THE GTX SERIES I KNOW EVGA USES BETTER COMPONATS AND BFG OVERCLOCKS

WHICH BRAND OF ATI SHOULD I GO WITH? DIAMOND / HIS / SAPPHIRE / VisionTek / XFX ? AND WHY?

Since you did present the option of the HD5850, I would go for that. Though it is expensive, you will not have to upgrade your GPU for another 2-3 years, whereas a game might come out that your HD5770 won't play when you buy your new monitor (presumably at 1920x1080).

If you have any evidence of this(doubtful as it's nonsense) then please supply it.
This guy is talking about 1440x900 and possibly upgrading much later. An HD5770 seems like the perfect choice for that. It's massive overkill at 1440x900 but will still be a good card at up to 1920x1080.

Well, he should spend about 175$ on a 23" moniter that can do 1920x1200 and throw away that craptastic thing he's using now. And if he's on a budget he should buy an 4850x2 or a 4850. Moniters are dirt cheap. I got my 22 inch Samsung moniter at a tech flea market a while agofor 70$ from some dude with a poor grasp of english.

A MAJOR FACTOR IS I WANT TO STOP THE LAG AND SLOWNESS OF A GAME WHEN 1000 THINGS BLOW UP AND BLOOD SPURTING EVERYWHERE, BODY PARTS HITTING THE SCREEN. ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

the monitor has to wait cause i just got a plasma tv for the living room. i will not be gaming on it though...sigh eBay Ive had bad experiences.
like i said i wont overclock or max the res.

Yeah, definitely an HD5770 at least if you are going to upgrade the monitor that soon. You could go for an HD4890 instead but personally I wouldn't. The extra 15ish % performance isn't worth the money plus sacrificing DX11 and power efficiency imo.
