I need a good "gaming" laptop under 500. I wont be playing games on ultra expecting to get a solid 60 fps. I prefer it be 15.6" and up. I've been looking at the lenovo y40-70 but the only problem is the screen size.

Solution
You won't get 60 frames in newer games on a $500 laptop, even on Low, but that depends on the game, Diablo 3 will run fine, WOW on Low you can get to 60 frames, GTA V, no. For $500 the Y40 could be your best pick.
For this price range you will likely to be only be able to get laptops with igpu which are not good for gaming. You will be most likely playing games like, wow, counter strike, lol, etc. I would advice you to save up if you can and buy a laptop once you have enough.

This assumes that desktops and small factor pcs are out of the question.

For the 500 range..... if you can find anything USED on craigslist I'd advise anything with an i3, i5 or i7(as these use INTEL HD 4000 or better graphics) they're integrated graphics, but depending on what games you play, I'd spend it on a desktop and use a dedicated card, as far as a gaming laptop in the 500 range, look around and see what you can find either at pawn stores, craigslist or otherwise. I've gotten some good deals, you may get lucky!
