Hello, I'm looking for some help to find the most powerful or best CPU to buy that is compatible with my Motherboard because I'm upgrading some parts of my current system and intend to use it primarily for gaming as well as some video editing. Also, would there be any BIOS update or required for Drivers required for the CPU to run properly.

I would also like to know if this website is a good reference for my motherboard and if I need any to do anything particular like update the BIOS or install new drivers for everything to work properly.

Thanks for the help!

Probably either FX8370 or Phenom II X6 1100T, depending on your feelings about FX processors. Either may be hard to find.

You'll probably need a BIOS update. Just update to the last BIOS released should do it. Just download the chipset drivers for your 990 (9 Series) chipset motherboard from AMD's web site

I can't really jump ship to Intel because of something about the RAM so I'm going to look at upgrading to the FX 8K range.

I looked around a bit and the best I could find was an FX-8350 on auction on eBay which is actually great. I'll see if I can pick it up and follow through with the RX-570 upgrade and see how it goes.
