I was just playing the division on my pc for about 2 hours cuz its on the free weekend and all of a sudden my just shutdown...

I was pretty sure it was just a overheating issue because (this kind of thing has happened before) and because the case around the MB was hot and a very very feint smell of like (heat) soo ive just let it rest for about 25 mins and now all components are cold (tested by touching gpu and cpu) etc and all are cold

Now when i power it on with the front panel Power button ..that lights up green so i presume the MB is working but nothing else is spinning up ...no fans at all ..not hdd spinning...no cpu fan spinning or nothing

I really dont want it to be my MB or my PSU ..i really dont wanna spend more money this close to christmas :/

Any ideas of what it might be ?

Could be your power supply? Are you able to open and close a cd rom? Your pretty sure its over heating? Did you bother to remove the HSF and reapply your thermal compound before continuing with your heating issue?

I think its my psu ...cuz when i press the button and its completly silent all round ..cant hear fan on psu so i assume its dead psu ...but confused as why the front panel led turns green when i press it ? ..didnt think that would happen if it was dead ?

And im oretty sure it was overheating because tbf i was pushing my pc to play at higher settings than i would usually and i.guess thats why i smelt a feint smell just before it shutdown

You should also list your hardware specs.
It could have been heat, but most components shut down when they hit a critical temperature to protect themselves.
I'm tempted to think its the PSU as well, but again..no info.
It's also a good idea in the future to monitor your temperatures with software.
