[SOLVED] Help! - files are slow to open

I am not sure if this is a w10 pro problem or hardware .
One of my pc's is taking a long time to open files ,but not programs or folders. It happens on the OS ssd and on an external drive any time i open a video or txt file.

The file's take around 45 seconds to open and after that any file will open immediately for about 20-30 seconds then it goes back to around 45 seconds.

I already used ccleaner to clean temp and other files and hd's are not much over 1/2 full


What could be causing this?

Have you run a defrag on the hard drives? it won't help the ssd though

What are specs of the PC?

the time makes me think its related to a buffer

try downloading HD Sentinel and running tests on all the drives.

I tried everything but just ended up buying a new ssd and reinstalling w10 everything is fine now. thanks for trying to help
