Help I can't remember an old animal game

I remember playing this one old violence free PC game pre-2010 where you control an animal and you help around people in a town. 2D top down game with simple cartoon like graphics. You would help people do jobs around the world whether it was in the forest, plains or the desert. I remember there being a quest where you have to repair an airplane. If anyone remembers that would be helpful.

I can only remember a donkey. And there were no enemies, it was just a run of the mill violence free adventure RPG sort of game. You got to help people and go around the world in places like forests, plains and a beach or desert (but it was a sandy area).

It is definitely not animal crossing. The game was completely in 2D, like it was hand drawn. Thanks for suggesting though!
