Hi, I have an Asus TUF FX516PM. I was dusting it out recently and a spark came from the battery (as I was unplugging it with a plastic tool). Ever since that has happened, I get no power. The LEDs don't light up to indicate powering on or charging, but the cpu and gpu still get hot. There is no display and the fans won't spin. Is there a fix?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Can you power the laptop without the battery but with the power brick? If that doesn't work, then you will need to send the laptop in for repair at a certified laptop repair shop since I'm assuming your laptop is past it's warranty period. The fact that your laptop's CPU and GPU are getting hot would mean you have a short on the board.

Ditto on Lutfij's suggestion. Removed the battery, hit the power button for 20 seconds or so, leave the battery out, and plug in the power brick. Give it 10 seconds to energize the circuit, then hit the power button to see if it turns on. If it doesn't turn on, you'll need to put in an RMA, or take it to a shop.

Thanks for the help. I assumed as much, but was just trying to avoid that being the answer!
