Question Help identifying screw type

Hi

I might be clutching at straws here, but can anyone identify what type of screws are needed just from seeing the holes on a case? I bought a retro tower for my 98 PC off eBay and no screws came with it. Out of all the spare screws I have, not one fits properly; they're just loose and spin round when trying to screw them tight.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see if I can find something similar on Amazon UK. And preferably silver as I don't think black ones are going to go well with a beige case.

Being as the side and the top of the case are one piece cases back than used rivets. Only the motherboard side had screws to open the panel.

On things like this I take to home depot and put it in a shopping card and go directly to the nut and bolts and find a match, best fit and than make it work.

Are these the fastening screws for the one piece/three side cover to come off?

If you pull the cover away can you see threads on what would be the 'frame' of the case?

Really hard to be sure from the super close up pics, but I was thinking the big one piece cover, personally.

Edit- I can see that I am incorrect as you can see out one side to the floor. You may well be right.

Hmm. Yeah, they could have been rivets, to be honest. I noticed one was inserted with the head broken off, which made it difficult to get the PSU in. Thankfully it dislodged as I was trying to push it in.

A very good point. But no, there are no threads sadly. So it looks like they are for rivets then. Damn.

And yeah, it's for the one piece/side cover - one side and the top panel as one.

Sadly, all I know is that it's a 'Scorpio'. There is a sticker at the back with a number, but that's it.

Not something I've done before, but it's something I could try. That's if our local DIY store has a nuts and bolts section where I can try them before I buy .

You could also go to amazon and look up a rivet gun kit and just put it back factory. Me being as someone has did the work of making the case open up I would find screws.

I think a rivet gun might be the ideal solution in this case. I just need to find out the right kind of rivet in this situation. Thanks again.

Sadly, all I know is that it's a 'Scorpio'. There is a sticker at the back with a number, but that's it.

There's also a CE European Union sticker which would imply that its metric.

There are no threads to screw anything into. A rivet most likely was there.

Just a quick update - I bought a rivet gun, which came with four rivet types and I've installed them perfectly. 😀

Only thing I need to work out is if and how it can be used to remove rivets if I need to.

The only tool to remove a pop rivet is a drill and appropriate size bit.

Drilling rivets is fairly easy and any cheap drill can do it
