Hello guys!

I am looking to build my first PC, for mainly virtualization as home lab server. Also for video editing, but I have next to no experience when it comes to shopping for the right fit. I want to use Linux as my operationg system mainly for using KVM as virtualization. I want to run five or eight virtual kvm's at the same time with different OS's. I appreciate any help and suggestions

A budget could have helped, but basically you will need a beefy cpu with higher core count for the multiple KVMs you are going to run as well as a decent card for the video editing part. I have included a card that can accommodate all kind of editing needs, but if that part of the functionality is not as demanding for you, you can scale down to a less powerful card.

Thank you. But as you know I am not going to use windows microsoft os instead I am going to use Linux as an os. linux distros has a problem with AMD and Invidia because of drivers. Can you propose another CPU that help in mutli kvm

According to this thread, there are not major issues with Ryzen for Linux. Ofcourse Intel Xeon processors are even better for that kind of server setting, but it also comes with a price. Same for the Quadro cards.

Thats what i mentioned earlier. There are no major issues with Ryzen except a few isolated cases here and there. Also there has been several firmware and bios updates since those postings, and support has been top notch with regular patches to fix most of the anomalies.
Thing is, you have not mentioned any budget, so I am trying to suggest parts as cheap as possible. The more you spend, the better it gets.
Do you have any set budget for this???

Im also interested in a similar setup.

Based on the previous notes. "Hellfire13" can you suggest a similar setup based on an intel cpu but a stronger one, with atleast 3.0ghz (something to match the ryzen), and also a graphics card , compatible with Linux

My budget is 1500$ +/-

Thanks,.
