Help installing Windows 10

i recently installed windows 10 onto a usb thumb drive, i plugged it into my pc and booted it from there and all it comes up with is a black screen with a flashing underscore, i dont know what to do

I have a Z170-Ar motherboard and windows installed on a USB drive

OK... just checking. The "bios" has USB boot enabled as well?

Did you make the USB loader? What tool did you use to make it? I often have to try more than once to get one that boots correctly...

off ebay... Personally, I'd NEVER buy anything licensed like an OS from ebay.

Do you have a true valid Windows 10 license key on a sticker w/ the hologram on it? If not, it's pirated.

No I needed the USB key to install windows I bought a key from a trusted friend who doesn't need it

I am, right now, downloading the full ISO of Windows 10 64-bit from Microsoft, from the link in the page I posted.

Even if the Rufus USB software does not work, you could burn the ISO to a DVD (4.1GB) and install it that way.

Ok but you said something aboutusb boot enables tooo, I can boot from the USB but nothing happens

do i need to install Motherboard drivers before i do this?? is this what is causing the problem??

also i do not have a dvd drive that i can use

the only reason i bought it off eBay is because i cannot download it on a mac, and if i can i dont know how i can. i really want to get this working, i put so much money and time into this and for it to just bail on me at the last minute is really heartbreaking
