Hi

My brothers gaming computer with GTX 1070 is showing its age and he has to play all the new games on low setting.

Can someone help me build a Gaming pc around the RTX 3080 TI?

So long the CPU and the rest of the system does not hinder the RTX 3080 TI to run at full speed its good.

Thank you

Is he only gaming? or do some creativity works?

CPU would either be i5 12600k or i7, or maybe Ryzen 9 5900x or 5800x3D

Motherboard? just search yourself top tier but not too expensive, like Aorus Elite, Rog Strix, or similar class

PSU 1000W, or maybe 1200W, because this is a fresh build, and next gen GPU is coming, just get ready for what could be useful in case you want to upgrade. There are newly released EVGA which said should be good, Be QUiet, or Seasonic, many, some Corsair too are good.

RAM, get 32Gb, yes it is overkill, but again it's a new build and you seemed to have money, lol, don't cheap out, have more is always good, it's only ahbout $60-80 more anyway, get 2x16gb or 4x8gb.

If you go Intel way, get DDR5, yes Memory market still dominate by DDR4 now, especially for tighter timings, but real world performance of said TIMINGS, not like a huge deal unless we are benchmark maniac, so DDR5 could potentially take over DDR4 entirely within a year or two, may as well start now.

Get case with great airflow, those system will runs hot. LOL

Regular 1080p resolution monitor at 60 hz

I don't remember the name of the game he is playing right now, but I do know that he has to run it at low setting.
Ok a monitor upgrade is required, no way to properly utilise that gpu at such a low resolution. Had it been say 4k or a high resolution ultrawide at 60Hz the cpu would be far less important than say 1440p 240Hz where the cpu would be far more important to achieving high fps.

I can't think of a game off the top of my head that 1080p low is required for a GTX1070 to get reasonable frame rates. Might be pulling your leg.

3080Ti is not a very cost effective card, for about $100 less than the cheapest 3080Ti you can get a 3080 12GB or for even a little less an AMD 6900XT 16GB which more than rivals it in straight FPS.

Yep, 3440x1440 or 2560x1440 at 100+Hz is the way to go.

I would probably build around an i7-12700K if building today, and in a few weeks time, likely the Ryzen 7700X. Maybe the 7900X.

Corsair RM1000x for a PSU.

Corsair 4000D airflow is hard to screw up.

Some decent 360mm AIO

2x32GB of DDR5 5600 CL40 at the least.

A good 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive and maybe an additional 2TB drive if more space is needed.

Thank you guys. I have Placed order for the following parts. I had to buy the CPU (New one) on Ebay since amazon will not arrive until 22nd

I7-12700k
AMD 6900XT
Corsiar 32GB DDR5
EVGA 850W PSU
Samsung 970 Evo plus2TB nVME drive
a beefy cooler with 12 heat pipes
Gigabyte Z690I
Asus TUF Gaming 32" 1440p HDR Curved monitor at 165Hz
Case: Vetroo M01 with 200MM fan at the front.

The AIO is probably going to be better but the case my Brother choose can't fit a 360mm AIO.

EVGA what model?
EDIT also add a rear fan to the PC case.

Also this. Corsiar 32GB DDR5 (no model listed)
a beefy cooler with 12 heat pipes, (again not listed the memory must fit under it in most cases)

I hope you got the RM850x some or the PSU's they make are garbage.

Corsiar Vengeance 32GB DDR5 5600. Not sure if it can run at 5600 but though it does not hurt, or does it?

Got the 120mm 200 to 1800RPM fan.

Are EVGA PSU bad? Wow I always though they are a good brand.....

Some are just junk some are good. they have never actually made a power supply it's just a rebrand . What model did you buy?
Also this I edited my post.

Corsair vengeance still not enough information they make several different heatsinks on them.

Its this one
CORSAIR Vengeance DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 5600 (PC5-44800) C36 1.25V - Black

ID-COOLING SE-226-XT Black CPU Cooler LGA1700 CPU Air Cooler 6 Heatpipes All-Black CPU Fan 120mm PWM Fan, Intel/AMD

Now that you mention it, I had to put the fan on the other side on my I9 build because the memory was to high.

and PSU

EVGA 220-G5-0850-X1 Super Nova 850 G5, 80 Plus Gold 850W, Fully Modular, ECO Mode with Fdb Fan, 10 Year Warranty, Compact 150mm Size, Power Supply

all of that should fit since the cooler is offset, 10 year warranty on the PSU so they think it's good it gets hard to keep up with all of the EVGA changes.

Cool.

My buying logic, look at the expansive and look at the discount.... hahahahaha, I know its not logical at all but I don't know much about individual parts qualities.
