My friend wants to build a computer with gtx 980 and i7-4790k
my questions
1) which is the best motherboard asus Z97-PRO or x99 Deluxe(linus tech tips use this in their offices)(are there any other good motherboard for the specific rig)
2) Which is the best cooling solution?
3) and any other thing i need to be aware of?

You cant use a x99 board with the 4790k, different sockets. You need a Z97 board. What to get is going to depend on features needed and budget, there are plenty of good boards. Also cooling is price dependent too, there are some good budget coolers but you can spend a lot more if budget allows
