I was working on my laptop on my lap with my HDD connected. I stood up and the HDD fell. I plugged it back and it continued working with no issues. Then I stood up again and then the cord shaked. I plugged it back and the drive is not working again. its telling me to format before I can use it. If I click cancel, I get location not accessible. I tried fixing using cmd chckdsk command and after over 4 hours it just showed me failed....

(trying to insert image from google drive, not showing, I inserted link to the images instead)

I opened the HDD to check whether the platter is stuck on the head or not and its not. I covered back and since then, the HDD is not even showing again. When plugged in, the platter moves to the head 2 times and returns back to its position and the disk stops rolling.

What can I do to fix this please, all my work files and clients files are on the HDD.

the worst possible thing to do is opening the HDD up, specially since you've got important stuff there.

a quick format would do, but you've got the files there so that not an option.

the data probably has been corrupted when the cable was shook, but could still be recovered by a recovery software.

since it doesn't work now(?) the next step is to take it to a data recovery expert near you, cause doing anything further will eventually make things worse. You've already made it worse, and after you've shook the cable and it doesn't work, you should have tried a data recovery software rather than to try and open it up.

note: dust may go in after opening it up, and nobody recommends opening the hdd up unless you're an expert.

as I said, taking it to a data recovery person is the best option, trying stuff on online forums will just make It worse.
