HELP ME HERE....

i want to make a pc that is good for RENDERING. i did some research and have got two options:

ASUS Z8NA-D6C Dual LGA1366 SSI Server Motherboard, Intel 5500 Chipset

ASUS Z8PE-D12X Dual LGA1366 SSI EEB 3.61 Server Motherboard, Intel 5520 Chipset

Now, I have got few queries:

1. which one will be better ?
2. should i prefer i7 or xeon processor ?
3. will it affect the rendering time if we use two processors in the server board. if so, how ??

Not sure if the i7 will work in a dual socket board (with another i7) anyway, so, that might be a moot point.

Rendering times could be affected, depending on how well the application scales with more than the 4-6 cpus avail on a single i7....

My guess is the added expense of Xeons and dual boards would not be worth it, but, just an opinion

If you're planning on getting a dual CPU board then you need to use xeon chips do you not?

01.Does Xeon X7560 will work in place of i7?

As others have mentioned, Xeon processors are required for a dual CPU system.

Autodesk is also practically the posterchild for CUDA so you'll actually get more performance benefit from money spent in GPU's than with processors.

The card you should get really depends on budget. The Quadro 6000 for ex is very good.

All modern Xeon's with the exception of Bloomfield (Model numbers 35XX), will work in a multi socket mobo, which supports that specific processor.
