Hi, I just installed my Hyper 212+ heatsink. It comes with a 120mm fan that connects to the CPU fan socket on my motherboard (obviously). I have an ASRock X58 Extreme..

My question: Speed Fan is saying my fan is at 100%, but I am only getting ~1990 RPM instead of 2000. Is this normal? Is there any way I can increase my fan speed past this or maybe even past 2000?

Please let me know if anyone knows how to do this!

Oh, and yes, I do have a 4-wire fan!

Hope someone can help! Thanks!!

Solution
1990 is 2000 from a manufacturing standpoint, +-5% is perfectly acceptable in most applications. The only way to increase the fan speed on a PWM fan once it is maxed out and now running as a DC fan would be to increase the voltage which you generally cannot do on a PC system as its probably already running on a full 12V. The only way to increase your fan speed is to get a faster fan.
