Hello, Da name is ravern and im finally digging that 6 foot deep hole for my old computer lol.
This will be my first build ever in my life. I did a little research, tell me if it will work out... Here we go
Antec 902 .
Pretty spacious Casse, comes with 4 cool blue led fans. the one in the back for exhaust runs a little loud according to alot of reviews so i'm going to replace it.

Next up is the processor :O.
I heard i7 is the way to go for gaming now, so i looked into the 950, because its like the mid tier of it, and im sure it could OC very well. not sure though.

Then the mobo. :O Imma get a gigabyte atx x58. I dont really need that much crap to go on it. plus it supports triple channel and SLI
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128456
is gigabyte reliable?!?
Then the GPU :O I heard ati isnt that great so im going with two of this card on SLI.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125344
It is overclocked to pretty good speeds and stuffplus its cheap, so i can SLI to my happiness. *note* Im not familiar to anything of this new age performance stuff lol. I never OCed anything but i plan on trying.* lol
Memory... Since the board supports triple channel, which is good? lol is it? i looked up a triple channel kit, imma get 6gb first, then probably buy another 6 more gb later on lol.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145236
i heard corsair is the only name to trust in Memory aswell so these were perfect i guess.
Next up... I wanna OC my i7, so i guess i need more coooling, so i was going to install 1 120mm case fan to the window of the case, then replace the exhaust one that comes with it, turn it into a intake... and get 2 exhaust pci slot fans, then a cpu heat sink and fan. so here are all of these.
2x for exhaust.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835119065
1 for window fan and 1 for replacing the exhaust fan so 2x.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835106153
Dropping this onto the i7
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233014
with this compound
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007
then this fan has better cfm then the one that comes with the heatsink soo...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811999613
okay, i think that should keep it cool? idk... what do you think?
Then there is the hard drive... all i need is my 20 gigs for music and like 10 gigs for games. and i should be happy.. so i dont need that much. i also heard western digital is the only name you should trust for HD's.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136098
lol. Then 2 cold cathodes because i like shiny stuff.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811994001
Then the monitor. I decided i wanted an hdmi monitor because the gts 450's came with a hdmi interface, plus this is a cheap screen with 2ms response time
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236083
For the OS, windows 7 64 bit professional.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116754
then the inputs.
I liked razors keyboards and mouses, so i got these...
Combo mouse and pad
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.540083
lycosa mirror edition keyboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823114008
and headphones
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826153040
then this is a big question... HOW MUCH CAN I OC this machine??? and how much power do i need.
I just want a good Gaming pc for right now. something that doesnt have any fps lag at all. i just wanna run flash games perfectly and actual games like Combat arms, and left 4 dead on ultra quality without lag. 3.06 ghz is okay, i just wanna know how much i can oc this without it dying on me the next morning lol. and how much power should i need.
I wanna get to atleast 3.8 ghz if not 4.0 ghz. but um someone told me that this psu should support me
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182067
.
should i do a different cooling setup?
Will this even work together?
will all the blue leds heat my system up?
can i even OC this thing to 3.6ghz?
is this a good build for what i want it to handle?
