Help me pimp out this case please

I would replace its 480 watt (more like 108 watt) power supply with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026 CORSAIR Builder Series CX430 $44.99 first.

Then place http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812551002 LOGISYS Computer ML12RD 12" 18 LED Super Bright Red Sunlight Stick $6.99 on the bottom front edge of the case.

Then if you really want to get fancy mount a 80mm fan in the top of the case between the PSU and front of the case. A http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811999453 LOGISYS Computer LT400RD 80mm Red LED $5.99 would do nicely. I will show the results on one I did below.

Choose a better case and a good branded Psu, Powersupplies that come with cases are rarely good units

Haha, yeah thats true Moto.. He could just buy a better case from the start. The only case PSU combo I have seen on newegg for under $75 that I would recommend is the Thermaltake V3 with a 430 Thermaltake PSU.

I like that red led strip and also the fan but wouldn't I have to cut the case to do that, and isn't there a place on the side to put a fan?

I know i'ts not the best case but it's for a friend; it matches her decor and where it's placed it's going to be very visable. I would like to put a controller panel in there too that shows the temp etc, maybe with some usb 3.0 inputs.

yes, you would have to cut the case to mount a top fan.


Honestly i would buy the one i linked and paint the front panel red if it was me. But then i like messing with that kind of stuff.

Yeah that light look cool. If I went with that case could I use the psu that comes with it? I suppose I could go to the auto parts store and buy some ruby red paint.

if you put the 80mm fan in the top, do what i did and put two side by side, looks much better and the fans dont looks as out of place as just one does. also if you can use old fans, do, they are often much better quality, ones i found in some old power syupplies been working for 10+ years and still move lots of air with little noise. (would post a pic of my 8 year old modded case with the fans in the top but i can never get images to work on this website. and i hate photobucket. but its just simple black fans in a simple black case, i plan to add some either darm blue or dark red cold cathode lights as well, maybe add a new hole for front panel 80mm fan. (under the one that is already in it) and possibly one up higher in the optical drive cage, there is lots of stuff you can do with computer cases, but you might want to start with a different one, sometimes the simple looking ones can be the coolest after modding.

I think you are right, a different case is probably the way to go. I kinda like the acrylic ones myself.

How does he like them though?
I'd warn him that constant dust clearance is going to be necessary as well,
acrylics a pain for static charge, attracting dust is one of the better things that could happen

to mention acrylic see thru cases are usually only made by apevia, are often shipped in pieces and are held together is rediclous ways, and usually have alittle to no air flow and arent very featureful or high quality. oh and im pretty sure plastic gets warm very easily... compared to ABS and steel...

Yup, good airflow is always important, but especially so with acrylic cases

Ok, forget the acrylic case. I'm going to look for a metal one with a clear window, and just trick that out.

50 bucks, its a good case.. I built in one for a freind. It dosn't have much in the way of spots to hide wires but other then that its pretty good.

On either one of these buy 1 more 120mm blue fan and install it in the front of the case.
