I want to custom build a PC for my girlfriend.
I do not know which CPU and GPU should i choose.
She needs a PC mainly for school and maybe sometimes for gaming.
I want to ask which CPU is better.
i7-8700k or Ryzen 7 2700x?
AND GPU 1060Ti or 1660Ti?

I know that CPU choice will change motherboard but i want to know which CPU and GPU would be the best?

Solution
For BF5 (and I talk from experience) the Ryzen 5 3600 6c/12t is really awesome, also for SOTR, Hitman 2, etc. If you like Intel the 8700K is also great with its 6 cores and 12 threads. The last option for a long time run (and not spending a crazy amount of money) will be the Ryzen 7 3700X with 8 cores and 16 threads.

As for graphic cards, the GTX 1660Ti is a great choice!
Best for?

School work-wise either CPU or graphics card will be fine. It's the types of games likely to be played which will determine the component choice a bit more. Though the GTX 1660 ti would be a better graphics card than the GTX 1060.
She is playing Battlefield 5 and new Modern Warfare game. BUT mainly for the school. Money here is not the problem. But which combo would be less bottleneck-ing?

Any of these combinations do not need to worry about bottlenecking. I’d pick either cpu with the 1660Ti. At this point the gpu will be the determining factor for gaming and both CPU’s are over the top for general school work.

Yes well i'm a bartender, and i do not know much about PC's. But how do you think Ryzen 7 2700x would pair with 1660Ti? I think i will make this combo for her needs.
