Hi guys,

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/LyVcxY

This is my first gaming build set up and I was wondering if I could get some help with the graphics card as this is the only thing I am undecided about.

I was looking at the Radeon RX 480 4GB NITRO+ 4G. What do people think, is this a good card or go with a 1060. Any suggestions? Also if I go with the RX480 what brand? Is the Sapphire okay as I could get one for less than £200.

Thanks guys!

Hello!

For 1080p 60fps gaming I would go with the RX 480 8GB sapphire as a cheap option that will also pack a punch and run the latest games :)

But for ultra graphics at 1080p I would go with a 1060.

For 4K graphics and just out of this world graphics and performance I would go with a 1080 :)
As on your other thread I did already suggest it .
For less than £200 its the best priced, best featured , best built GPU at its pricepoint by a country mile.

8gb is not required for 1080p gaming , 1440p it is but that's not what the 480 is really aimed at.

It depends, I would go with the 8GB so then you can upgrade your computer over time without having to buy another graphics card. So for future proofing I would go with the 8GB because in the long run you can say "I want a new CPU!" and you can just buy one for better gaming and you won't need to upgrade your GPU again :)

Some say 4gb will be fine but i personally prefer the 8gb once .One coz of Future proofing(There is no telling when the 1080p version will start taking more than 4gb).Technology advances so does the limit for the Graphics(textures, models etc..) also increases.Trust me go for the 8gb once.Beside 4gb has a lower memory clock speed compared to the 8gb once

This is just not true. Well, not if you want teh highest quality textures. And why on earth wouldn't you, seeign as they don;t really impact performance negatively if you have enough VRAM. See watch Dogs, Shadow of Mordor with the texture pack etc.
And games will come with textures that exceed 4GB on ultra just because, well, there are cards wiht more than 4GB of VRAM available.

Saying that "8gb is not required for 1080p gaming" is short- sighted. No offense.

Is this the one I want?

Personally I would say yes so then you can easily upgrade in the future :)
