Firstly Thank you for reading this in advance. I appreciate any help anyone can offer.

I recently built this computer and this is approx. my 7th PC build- this is the first one I ever had problems with and they are non-ending.

I assembled the machine and it ran great for about three days. It then began random freezes- which I initially thought were heat or driver related. I monitored the heat and the system temp for the chip was within the threshhold (about 50C)

Soon After the pc began to become unresponsive. It would then not turn on at all, and kept restarting over and over and over.... before the pc processor fan would even kick on.

In my trouble shooting I replaced The PS, the MB, RAM to no avail...

I put the Q6600 processor in another working Pc and that one began exhibiting the same errors!

SO...

I then replaced the q6600 processor (via intel warranty) and the unit began to function again.

However about 3 days later the system will not turn on again and the PC boots over and over and over...

This PC is making me lose my mind. I have no idea what could be causing this...

I am desperate for any help.

When you say 50C....is that at idle??? Also what type of cpu cooler are you running?
What type of thermal compound did you use? It certainly at first glance seems to be a thermal issue, however other causes might be there.

I used stock Intel cooler - At Intel's suggestion after first crash.
I used generic thermal compound plus Intel's pre-applied.

35-50C at Idle

65C at high load.

I thought the Q6600 had a heat warning system in it?

The Case came with one fan and I added two additional.

What do you recommend for a CPU cooler?

I had the same problem and had it checked by a professional pc tech. He told me it was my power supply that was causing the constant restarts. I switched the ps and my pc's back to normal. But i see you already tried replacing your ps. Maybe u got a bad one for the second time also???

Thanks for the Info. Yes, I tried replacing the PS. I guess it's possible I got two bad ones...

I will try to swap it again and see what happens. Normally Antec's PS are good.
