[SOLVED] help need to upgrade my GPU

Solution
its the PSU in my list. im looking to get new ram ddr4 3200 but my motherboard only support 2133 is that gonna be a problem?

The order of importance when it comes to RAM is:
  1. Having enough of it (16 GB)
  2. Having 2 sticks of it (Dual Channel)
  3. Speed in Mhz

You're RAM speed by far has the least impact when it comes to gaming (on Intel platforms at least) and also is not going to be a source of slowdowns for you considering the hardware you have right now. In fact, your RAM speed is less important than how capable your current CPU is, or the speed of your Hard Drive. If you had an solid state hard drive and a powerful CPU/GPU, then you'd have reason to be concerned about your RAM speed.

In your MSI Dragon center...

I'd go with an rtx 2060 if you can find one w/in the budget.
If you want to stay w/ AMD, maybe the 5700.
Also, you might want to get another stick of RAM, single channel will hurt performance a LOT

I'm slightly surprised you're rocking a RX 480 with a 1440p 144 Hz monitor; how has that been working for you?

I personally prefer Nvidia cards due to their more stable drivers. With a budget of around $300, you're two best options are a GTX 1660 Super or a RTX 2060 (which would be way better suited for 1440p gaming).

I personally own a RTX 2060 KO that I got for about $320. If you don't want to go over $300 though, you could get the 1660 super and still have money left over to upgrade to 2 x 8 GB of RAM; you'll really want that RAM, a single 8 GB stick is both too slow and not enough for games these days.

im really noob when it comes to this :ROFLMAO: is this the one https://www.newegg.com/evga-geforce-rtx-2060-06g-p4-2066-kr/p/N82E16814487488 ?

I actually own that exact card lol. It's worked very well for me. Your monitor is also G-sync compatible so you'll be able to use Variable refresh rate just fine.

What games are you playing? Do you like to play at higher or lower settings?

I've heard that the cooler is better on the MSI version of the 2060 which means it'll run both cooler and quieter. Of course, it's more expensive though.

In your MSI Dragon center software for your motherboard you might be able to over clock your RAM (I too have an MSI motherboard and have been able to overclock my RAM) but again, this should be low priority to you compared with having enough RAM and having a powerful enough GPU to run your games at the settings you want.
