Before I start my specs:
Intel i3-6100U @ 2.30 GHz
4GB DDR3 RAM
Intel HD 520

As you can tell I have Intel HD 520 Graphics. On websites, the iGPU was rated highly so I bought a laptop thinking it was going to be good. When I started using it, the performance was not at all what was showed on videos. I played CSGO on all low settings and got an average of 40 fps. Need for Speed Most Wanted 2 was average 20 fps on all low settings and 800 by 600 resolution. When I checked my dedicated vram, it was 128 mb. Could anyone help me figure out why the performance is low on my laptop? Also, will adding another stick of 4gb ram so that it is in dual channel and has 8gb ram improve the performance of the iGPU?

Solution
The HD 520 is about the level of the GT 720, which is not really good enough for games.
You are also using a slow CPU, the faster benchmarks you may have seen were probably done on an i5 not an i3. For CS GO with a Intel Core i5-6200U it would run at about 70 FPS on low settings.

See if there are newer video card drivers from the laptop vendor support site, that may help you.
Integrated graphics are not meant for gaming. They work fine when your browsing the internet and watching videos, but they aren't up to intense tasks like gaming. Adding RAM won't improve its performance. Your processor is pretty weak as well. That laptop simply wasn't built for gaming.

I understand that integrated graphics are the last thing you want when it comes to gaming, but if you were to google this iGPU it shows much better performance than what I am pushing out. I don't understand why and need help with that.

Thanks! I have also heard that single channel significantly decreases performance on iGPUs compared to dual channel. Should I upgrade my RAM to 1 more stick of 4gb memory to improve my performance in games?

Yes dual channel RAM will help, and so will faster RAM if your system can run it.
