hello, i have a q6600 and a gigabyte ud3r. and i cant seem to get the cpu past 2.7.
can anyone please help me, any suggestions on how to make the cpu run at around 3 would be great, thanks!

bios setting will take some time (im in a rush right now)

cpu: q6600
mobo: gigabyte ud3r

(do you even need this info?!?!?!)
gpu: gtx 260
2 hard drives some other ***

with the bios, i had it on 1.4 i think then 1.45. (it would boot up bu if i went into the bios it would say o/c failure or something like that ) but then i used easy tune 6 and its been running for over an our on 3.2 with stock voltages.

Your voltage is too high imo. (I'm not gonna restart to read my BIOS settings, but I'll try to do it from memory).
PCI Express frequency- 100mhz
CPU ratio- 9x
FSB- 335
make sure memory is set to Standard, not extreme or turbo.
Memory needs to be run at 2.4a (might be 2.00a cant recall)
CPU Voltage- 1.33-1.35 (My 6600 isnt a gret overlcocker but can run 3ghz at 1.34v)
CPU PLL- Manually set to 1.5
CPU Termination- Manually set to 1.3
CPU reference- AUTO

DRAM Voltage- Manually set to w/e voltage required by ur ram, for 800 usually 1.8-1.9 (go with higher one if it's listed as this), for 1066 usually 2.0-2.1 (again go with higher one)
Rest of DRAM settings on AUTO.

MCH Core- Manually set to 1.2
ICH Core- Manually set to 1.2
Rest on AUTO.

If you are still having problems it's most likely a memory issue, I've spent countless hours with the same CPU and Board trying to nail down why I just could not hit 3.2ghz with any amount of voltage increase, and I found when I loosened my timings and went to a slower memory latch, voila, it worked.

I had no trouble getting mine to run at 3.0 GHz. Of course, mine had a pretty low VID - 1.2625 volts. And it would run at 2.4 GHz. on 1.225 volts. :bounce:

If it's a G0 stepping, it should run at 3.3 GHz with little trouble.

i have it running on 3.44 right now
(heres a link for some data)http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=541465
not sure what the core voltage is at. (in school)
does easy tune 6 change voltages?

does easy tune 6 change voltages, im runnng it at 3.44 and it seems to go fine, (i ran prime 95 for an hour, had some homework to do on my pc)
i ran prime 95 for 4 hrs on 3.2 and it had 0 warnings, 0 errors.
ir i go into the bios and lower my core voltage, im assuming it can become unstable?
