HELP! On a budget

Hello, as the title says, I'm in a bit of a bind! I know verrrrrrrrrrry little about computers hardware and tech wise, but I am somewhat knowledgeable.

I just recently discussed getting a PC with my wife, and she agreed (halleluiah!!!).... BUT I have a budget of 750 not including shipping. I have a monitor picked out. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236052, and that brings my budget down to 580 flat. So you're probably wondering WHAT exactly I'm going to be doing with this computer? Well, in my spare time, I'm either hunting, or gaming. Computers are no good for hunting, so I think it's pretty obvious lol. I play games such as DayZ (Arma2 mod), World of Tanks, and the occasional Solitare. The Intel Core i3 w/ Intel HD 4000 HP Pavillion laptop doesn't mind running Solitare without a problem... but my fps on things such as WoT and DayZ isn't the greatest, although I was suprised when I was able to unbox it and play both on medium settings with the former getting min. 30 fps and the latter getting min. 10-12 fps. But I really wanna get a much faster desktop that can run much better without me worrying about murdering my computer.

I have been looking at this PC http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227446, which meets my budget by about a cent, but it has the same, Intel HD 4000, but a much better i5 3670k processor. Should I go ahead and pull the trigger on this PC? Or are there much better models I could possibly get? Mind that my budget will REMAIN at 580, and that building one myself is OUT OF THE QUESTION. Not my choice on the cost, but it's not going up anytime in the future. THANKS!

Doesnt seem too bad, an i5 plus 650gtx, only concern is the 400watt psu as it doesnt specify brand, and it gives u win8 which i personally dont like, but its cheaper and it has the i5 plus 650gtx. Cheaper motherboard but for the cost its expected. Read the reviews and make ur final decision to be sure or else seems pretty good for the cost.

if she isnt going to play any games igpu on that i5 will do fine, my only issue is that like most prebuilts even with ibuypower, etc they usually over charge and u get usually a cheaper motherboard and ram. U can prob build something similar with a gpu no prob for $580, maybe not an i5 if u get a gpu, but without one u can easily get that in there

I think you have the numbers confused. you probably mean a i5 3570K.
Which is a fine CPU, but the Intel HD 4000 isn't that great. But on the plus side, you could save up and add a better video card later.

The Laptop you had must have been fairly new. There aren't many i3's with the HD 4000. Surprised it only got 10 fps. Did you try dropping the resolution settings and other graphic's settings a bit. You might fine you can put up with it for a while, then getting a better desktop later.

Yeah I just realized that now, lmao. It is a fairly new Windows 8 HP Pavilion G6 2260HE. Reason for getting a new PC is that my wife needs a laptop for work, and it is going to be flooded with data not to mention gone half the time I wanna use it seeing our work schedules overlap. I was planning on saving for another Graphics Cards. Any particular one you'd reccomend?

I built a i5 build with the 3570k, asrock extreme 4 z77, 8gb patriot viper 3, rosewill 630watt green series, and a galaxy 650ti and got to 600, so with that u dont have a case nor a hdd lol but gets u a gpu with the limit or else could save alot with an x4 965 or fx 6300 or a lower end i5 ori3

lazyboy947 is right. 300W is pretty awful. Means you are going to need a new PSU if you want a reasonable video card.

I had a look through the pre-built machines NewEgg has at the moment. I couldn't find something that I would describe as a gaming machine for $580. Some it is likely some sacrifice will have to be made.

I know you said building it yourself was out of the question, but you really do gain a lot of flexibility. Check out this $500 gaming build on Toms,

good look but at $800 u can get a non apu. since it has a dedicated gpu the 7770, the a10s becomes pointless as its igpu isnt used, not a bad find, but again an i3/i5, fx6300, or phenom ii x4 if u can even find the x4s in prebuilts.

The apus cpu isnt bad and neither is the 7770, plus its 650 bronze psu is good and 16gb of ram, maybe look for the non apu if u can, try ibuypower.com or cyberpowerpc.com or origin on a custom build, u customize they ship to u fully built. There usually more than a prebuilt like newegg has but its a decent way to get wat u want and not put it together.

Ibuypower usually has the fx series and i3s and gpus etc but will prob be at that $800 mark, gives choice of win 8 or 7 alrdy in the cost

customize the cheapest amd mage build which starts at like the mage d245, throw in the fx 6300, 7770, name brand 8gb 1600 ram, and a corsair 430 psu gets u at around $801 on ibuypower

buying straig from ibuypower would be better than one from them on newegg as u get the customization, and i actually on ibuypwer got the i5 cheaper down to $825 it has the same i5 as the above and psu and ram, but its has a 2gb 650 gtx ti, its under the z77 core i5/i7 configurator, but would require to get back up to $800 lol

Thats better, got the good i5 but lowered gpu, its not terrible and it has a 600w psu, Maybe if ur ok in installing a gpu which is fairly simple, look for one like u did with no gpu with the intel hd graphics and buy and add it urself, a 650gtx on newegg only runs for around $105-120ish and a ti for $140
