we are trying to do a PC build for my son....we have it all together except the computer screen says "No signal" What have we done wrong? We bought a dvi cord today and it still won't work...we can't install windows until we can get the screen to work....this was his Christmas present and he has yet to be able to play......please any help would be appreciated!

Solution
Just rerun the network driver installer for Windows, and insure that you have the correct version for your OS, hardware, and the latest version.
I learned many years ago never to do a build on Christmas. :) Too much stress.

It would help if you could list your parts by model. Which OS?

Also, what do you actually get -- any spinning fans or lights on, etc. or just nothing at all.

First double check all connections and insure that the basic stuff like the two motherboard power cables and the power cable to the video card (if applicable) are connected. And insure that you are connected to the correct video and not the onboard unless you are testing with that.

we are learning that lesson the hard way! Monitor solution is fixed.....now we cannot connect to the internet......we don't have a disk drive installed yet so I'm assuming we dont have all the needed drivers installed.....it there a way to download drivers to a stick drive and install?

Yes, I will assume that it is either AMD or NVIDIA and both have great support pages to download the latest version for your OS and card model. They usually run in the 100MB range so fit on a USB nicely. If it is built in, then go to Intel or AMD for their onboard video drivers.

Right now we are having trouble with getting on to the internet on that PC. Our Extender does not come up when we go to the Internet Access section. How do we make the Extender come up

Once you have loaded all the drivers, then check in the device manager to insure that there are no yellow exclamations next to your wireless adapter -- what wireless adapter did you add, a PCIe card or a USB stick?

Once the wireless adapter is properly installed it should show up a wireless signal in the system tray (lower right corner of the screen) and a left click on that will allow you to select the wireless and enter your security passkey.

You can use the disks, but I usually get the latest drivers off the manufacturer site, not much difference usually though.
