My computer will not boot past the loading screen with the green bar. I can’t even get to the login page. After a short time trying to load, a quick blue screen with about 5 lines of small text flashes and then the computer restarts. It’s impossible for me to read what it says. It’s not the typical BSOD.

Booting from CD and trying to use Startup Repair fails.

In Safe Mode it stops at \Windows\System32\Drivers\BtHidBus.sys and the comp restarts

What’s the next step from here?

Oceanian is correct, but, if you want to get the info from the blue screen, you could try a digital camera if turning off the blue screen restart doesn't work.

Edit: Duh you can't turn off blue screen restart if you can't get in...

from the boot cd try to boot to a command prompt and run chkdsk.

Hello,

Try this:

1 Put in your windows install cd and and boot it like you would if you were going to reinstall windows.

2 when the menu comes up select "R" for recovery console.

3 it should display something like this:

1. C:\WINDOWS

4 press the one key and then ENTER to select this windows install

5 It puts you in what is called a dos prompt

6 type FIXBOOT and ENTER, it will ask you to confirm (y/n) type Y

7 type FIXMBR and ENTER, it will ask you to confirm (y/n) type Y

8 type EXIT and Enter

after that it should reboot, hope this helps

If it were my computer I would reformat the HD. I would have previousely backed up important files and if I lost information by reformating I would consider it a small lost just to regain the use of my computer.

Also, if this is a Seagate HD, I would replace it with a WD. I have never had problems with WD, whereas I have usually had problems with Seagate. I will never purchase another Seagate HD no matter what the price is.
