I just purchased a geforce2 MX400 (AGP). Installed it on my AMD K6/2(500), 192MB ram. It keeps locking up the computer when loading games. I have to shut the power off and reboot. I found the patch for the game and updated the drivers for the video card and still doesn't work. It even crashed during a Benchmark99.

new gc on old comp => games crashes.

test the video with winbench.
if that involves crashes & hangup, the gc is not supported by your old config.

maybe you can change the gc setting to improve the compatibility.

the chipset of your motherboard... is it a VIA Apollo MVP3/4 ???
it seems to have problems with certain graphics cards... had one from TMC & it didnt like my TNT2 ultra (anything involving video & it tended to go a bit ga-ga)...

There are no stupid questions... just lots of inquisitive idiots...

possible/probable (you could try an older model card in your system and see if the problem still occurs... I switched my older computer back to a ATI rage pro can it stopped falling over... but then it isnt much good for games with a 4 yr old card in it...)

There are no stupid questions... just lots of inquisitive idiots...
