Help plz- E 8400 or Q 8400 ?

Hello ppl- Need some help plz.
I would like to upgrade my cpu , keeping socket 775, therefore core 2 duo or core 2 quad.
I also do gaming- Main thing here
Which is the best :

Core 2 quad Q8400 or core 2 duo E8400 ?
On overall ? i will also overclock.



i Actually have an E4600 core 2 duo - oc at 3.2 ghz
Hyper 212 + cooler
9600 Gt
4 gb ram
Msi p45 neo3fr Board

Hey Maziar, how u doing ?
Am in a bit of an issue , i used to be getting 60 + fps on some games, but now i only get around 30 or lower
I have tried all games i have , and same thing, 50 % fps only !
Thats crazy . I tried the games in another OS too, still same issue. I guess its my gpu, i overclocked it, but it was all stable and for some time.. How is that possible, none of my settings changed.. same old settings.
Thats really crazy cant even play any games in my free time!!! 🙁

What do you suggest mate ?

Yes was oc to 3.0 now oc to 3.6 . same problem, its not cpu..
I really dont know what to do ..

Revert back to stock speeds and check with it

Hey, well i removed all my drivers , then removed gpu, cleaned a bit and reinstalled !.. Well its working now.

I already got kind of similar issue, was too much dust near the fan, cleaned it was like new.

Maziar, i currently have the 9600 Gt, which i quite dislike. i want to get a xfx 5770 1 gb.. Is it very good >

There is a big price difference btw the gtx 260 in my country [ well palit gtx 260 216 core much cheaper than the asus gtx 260 ]
what do you think mate ? Which do you recommend?

Going from a 9600GT to a 5770 would give you a great boost in performance.
Although GTX 260(Core 216) is faster than a 5770 but i recommend going with 5770 because the difference isn't much,also it runs cooler,quieter and has newer techs like DX11,eyfinity...

I heard about previous driver problems with ATI, it is ok now?

I have used both ATI and Nvidia cards and sometimes their drivers are buggy but you can find good and stable drivers too
