HELP! Random Shutdowns

I just don't know what is wrong with my system. It randomly shuts itself off i have an r9 290 and Phenom 2 x4 955 and a 850 watt power supply and also 8 gigs of 1333 ram. Please send me suggestions of what to do! Thanks

well first off that cpu will be bottlenecking the heck out of your gpu. It could be any number of things unfortunately. First I'd check the PSU, if you can't test it yourself take it to someone who can or use a different PSU if you have one available to see if it resolves the issue.

Its a antec 850 and it just says model cp-850

Random shutdowns are usually PSU related and yours came out in 2009 and should be replaced.

Okay I found the real reason that my pc was shutting down the thermal paste on my gpu was really old i guess. I put some new stuff on and it works perfectly now.
