Why is Core Temp showing much lower temps than HWMonitor?
My CPU stock fan is extremely loud but I don't think it's at an 85 Celsius average?..
Currently using a stock cooler with 2 case fans and an AMD FX-870k.

I ordered a CPU cooler, my fan is really noisy, but I hope it's not as hot as it says? At least to me it doesn't seem so.

Help please!

Solution
There is no such processor as the FX-870k

Is it an FX 8370? Or an A8 processor?

Either way those programs don't measure AMD temps correctly. The only software you will get good numbers from is AMD Overdrive.

https://imgur.com/a/Hcb8p says FX 870k. But it's detected as an a8/a10.
Thanks I didn't know that AMD temps weren't accurate I had a feeling. I'll check AMD Overdrive.

I ended up adding the cooler seems to be doing much better.

I would check the thermal paste application on the cpu, is their dust buildup in the pc?

Its an Athlon x4 870k, makes sense now. Is this a pre-built system from Lenovo? So you added a new cooler and you are good?

Ah, thanks for telling me. Yeah my old PC was a Lenovo h50 I ended up buying a new case with mostly new parts besides HDD and CPU, got a new cooler and it's doing a lot better. :wahoo:

Going to definitely upgrade it since I'm pretty sure the Athlon x4 runs hot because it seems to be cheap. I'll upgrade to a Ryzon 5 and I should be fine.
