Question Help Reviving Old Laptop (Clevo P150EM)

Back in 2012, i bought a Sager np9150 (Clevop150EM) with the following specs:

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7970m

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) I7-3720QM 260GHz.

RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600mhz

Mobo: Clevo P15xEMx

I switched it in 2016 and left it abandoned for all these years, but now i want to revive it and lend it to a friend so he can play games like valorant, phasmophobia, lethal company, etc.

I tried doing a factory reset and clean installing windows 10 on it with a USB, but it got stuck twice on the final part of the installation (the one that says Leave everything to us or This could take several minutes) for more than 3 hours, so i had to force restart it and it booted but it stills feels odd installing windows like that. Then i actually managed to install some games on it like Phasmophobia and Lethal company, but they all ran at 8 fps exactly in the minimum settings, which fell odd since when i used to play back in the day i could run games like Skyrim, Team Fortress 2, Far Cry 3, GTA V and others.

So, i am a noob when it comes to software and hardware, and i have lots of questions:

  1. How can i do a Clean Install without the laptop getting stuck at the end.
  2. If i manage to clean install Windows 10 successfully, what are the next steps? i mean which drivers should i update? GPU, Intel Chipset, BIOS? i dont know anything about how to check if i need driver updates and how to actually update them in this old device.
  3. How can i check that the PC and the GPU is running as intended, i dont expect high performance on newer games but i still tink 7-8 fps at minimum settings and low resolution is very bad.
Im new to this forum, so im all ears and would really appreciate your help in this matter.

1. You can try doing a windows reset in Settings.
Or you can try an inside install. Plug the win10 usb stick in while windows is running and double click the usb to mount it and then run the "setup.exe" from within File Explorer and see if it completes without errors.

2.You should update all of the above drivers that are the last release for that model. Download gpu from amd website by model. Also see if you can get the last drivers from manufactures website or a reputable website for others.

Try this first and check back in for step 3.
