Help! Strange computer problems after building my PC

Just finished a PC build and it's doing strange things.

When I power it on, the lights will go on, CPU, GPU, PSU Case Fans all spin up. Monitor says "No signal detected"

I've tried connecting my monitor to the motherboard for integrated graphics as well as the GPU and I got the no signal error both times.

Then I try turning it off and restarting it multiple times. After 10 tries or so, the computer powers on, everything is fully functional, CPU, GPU temps are fine.

Then I go to restart my computer and I get the same problem again. Every 20 tries or so, the computer powers on and works normally. Otherwise, there will be the no signal issue with the monitor.

What could it be

Have you tried taking out the video card then trying the video port on the motherboard? Does it sound like it boots up to windows but no video on the monitor?

I have. Both times it didn't work. I have speakers plugged in that alert me when the startup is successful because I can hear the windows sound. The machine doesn't boot up except once every 20 times or so. It isn't just the display that isn't working.

When you say PC build, can you clarify on that more?

Do you want specific components? They are all compatible, I'm sure of that. It's a PC that I bought the parts for and built.

Oh so its pretty much a new PC you custom build, I would try the "process of elimination", take out all the ram and try one stick at a time in each different slot, also remove the hard drive, any optical drives, and any other things in the PCI slots, get where I am going? leave all the necessary stuff in, IE fans and power connectors.

I've tried this with the RAM and the SSD as well as HDD. Those are all working. I've tested the GPU in a different system I have and that's working. The only things left are the CPU and the Motherboard. How can I determine what's wrong?

That's a tough one, you will need to find a motherboard that's compatible with your CPU and put it in, for me that's the only way I know how to test the CPU. CPU's rarely go bad but I have seen then faulty, I would bank my money on Motherboard, something probably accidentally got shocked.

Have you tried all new RAM sticks or known good ones?
I would get in contact with the motherboards manufacture to see if they can help you further.

Ugh what would cause me to break my motherboard? I thought I was being careful.

Could it be a software issue? Because when it works, it works flawlessly until I shut down the computer

Well computers/components can come damaged from the factory, and yeah I work on a lot of laptops/desktops everyday and never strap down and I cant think of a computer I have shocked, but its possible. If it was a software issue, it would be very hard to diagnose, I would remove the driver for your add on graphics card completely and go from there.
