Hi I'm wondering which one is better for my new build

EVGA 580 SLI vs. PowerColor 6870 x2 Crossfire (CFx4)

and

EVGA 570 SLI vs PowerColor 6870x2 + Powercolor 6870 (CFx3)

thanks for advice so should I forget about the CFx4? or CFx3? cuz the benchmarks were promising but I'm not sure about them as most of people prefer 570SLI and 580SLI over them like you and me.

The superclocked 560 Ti's have put a serious dent on the appeal-ability of the 570...... No doubt all the web traffic about "fried 570's" has helped decrease the 570's appeal but, to my mind, most of it is quite unfair. Yes, the 570's VRM is not as robust as the 560's but it seems the great majority of these fried 570's have resulted from exceeding nVidia's published voltage limits.

It's become a matter of just how much you are willing to pay for small increases in performance.

Since we talking SLI, I will use Guru3D's testing first; they use the following games in their test suite, COD-MW, Bad Company 2, Dirt 2, Far Cry 2, Metro 2033, Dawn of Discovery, Crysis Warhead. These are the results in SLI:

$ 205.00 560 Ti - 900 Mhz gets 862 fps @ $ 0.48 per frame
$ 320.00 570 gets 873 fps @ $ 0.73 per frame
$ 480.00 580 gets 953 fps @ $ 1.01 per frame

So.....in Guru3D's test......

You get a whopping 11 fps more (+1.3 %) getting the two 570's over the 560's for a 56% increase in cost.
You get 91 fps more (+10.6 %) getting the two 580's for a 134% increase in cost over the 560's.

Another consideration is that , the 560 is a beast at overclocking ..... looking here we see that the 560 Ti overclocked to the max (1920 x 1200) runs neck and neck (570 tops the 560 by 1.7%) with the standard 570 overclocked. The Asus model 570 OC'd does quite a bit better topping the 560 OC'd by 13% ....

560 Ti and Asus 560 Ti TOP CU Overclocked to Max Stable Frequency Both the TOP Cu and regular 560's got same scores at max oc

AvP = 36 fps
Metro 2033 = 36 fps
Cryis Warhead = 47 fps
COD-MW = 103 fps
Just Cause 2 = 59 fps
BatmanAA = 154 fps
BF-BC2 = 94 fps

Total = 529 fps

nVidia 570 Overclocked to Max Stable Frequency

AvP = 38 fps
Metro 2033 = 36 fps
Cryis Warhead = 45 fps
COD-MW = 102 fps
Just Cause 2 = 61 fps
BatmanAA = 157 fps
BF-BC2 = 99 fps

Total = 538 fps

Asus 570 Overclocked to Max Stable Frequency

AvP = 44 fps
Metro 2033 = 41fps
Cryis Warhead = 52 fps
COD-MW = 113fps
Just Cause 2 = 72 fps
BatmanAA = 177 fps
BF-BC2 = 101fps

Total = 600 fps

However, the 560 scales better (174%) than the 570 (167 %) .... I'd rather have actual testing from overclockers club but "doing the math" adjusting for SLI we have (again at max overclock):

560 Ti = 529 x 174% = 920 fps
570 = 536 x 167% = 895 fps
Asus 570 = 600 x 167% = 1002

The Asus 570 therefore gets 8.9% win over the 560's in this test

It's therefore left to the buyer to decide .....

8.9 % increase in performance over the 560 for 56% increase in cost for the 570
10.6 % increase in performance over the 560 for 134% increase in cost for the 580

The argument however, may fall to how you feel about the more demanding games. Do you care whether Batman gets 177 or 157 fps ? But, in SLI, the 570 gets 54 fps to the 560's 49 fps ...... that's 10% but will ya notice 5 fps ?

nice point but another concern for me is the time which my cards would do good are these result gonna stay the same over two years? I'm not planing to change them for at least 2.5 years. if not then i'll hapily go for 560 Ti in SLI

Beyond fanboys taking sides both the SLI and Crossfire will do the job easy in that time frame.

Just check the local prices and rebates.

From the store we do not have EVGA in stock but have Powercolors; in short: Realy Cheap but a bit noisy.

Until there are new consoles it is unlikely that games will become all that much harder to run overall. There may be a few games that go crazy with tessellation (ala Crysis 2's DX11 patch) but other than that SLI GTX 560 Ti should do very well for 1080p.
