I have a aging computer and while i love to game, it doesnt. The CPU is always maxing out sometimes just browsing the internet and games can get too laggy. My computer http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c01270768
has 2Gb ddr2 ram (max supported) and a cheap nvidia geforce 210 1gb ddr3 graphics card (only thing changed from the linked one otherwise exact same) i wanted to get a core 2 duo e8600 or c2q 9550 but after reading here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01285437&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=3577865&tmp_track_link=ot_search#N116
under procssor upgrade info it only supports up to core 2 duo e4400. I looked it up but couldnt find much on it though someone said a e4300 was better? What CPU is best for gaming for my computer that is supported by mobo and how much better is it then my Pentium D 915 presler? Like will it make the computer noticeably faster, maybe slightly or not at all? Sorry for long-ish post and thanks for reading through it all. oh and both are 15-20$ used on amazon right now.

I'd save money and get a new CPU, motherboard and video card. The GeForce 210 is really for low wattage builds as opposed to gaming builds where an GTX #60-#80 would be more appropriate.

What sort of operating budget do you have, potentially?

i would say spend about 100-130 bucks and get a FM2-A55 motheerboard with an A6 5400k processor + 4GB 1600Mhz or 1866Mhz RAM. That is way faster than the Core2Duo's and the graphics literally kicks Nvidia 210 Ass even though it is integrated graphics. And also your rig would become of today's standard.
