Hello, guys.. I would like some input, recommendations etc on the type of ram that i have chosen. My mother board is a " Dual Channel Type). I would like to know which stick of ram i can use for it. I choose Corsair because I like the look of their sticks. Is G-Skill better???

2 2-4GB= 8gigs of ram Dual Channel kits?? like the link I am showing here or

4: 2-4gb= 16gigs of ram Quad Channel kit?

So my question is, Does my ram actually have to be "Dual Channel" meaning the Quad Channel Ram won't fit.

Here is my mother board
ASUS P8Z68-V LGA 1155 Intel Z68

CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

QUESTION 2

Is 16 gigs an overkill? I am going to be using my system for Video Editing+ Gaming at (1920x1080) Res

System Specs.

- Intel I7 2600k
-ASUS P8Z68-V LGA 1155 Intel Z68
-Evga GTX 570 (factory super clock revision)

Thanks in advance =D

Solution
Just about all pairs of Ram now are dual channel, so your ok there.

16gb is overkill...8gb (still more then enough) will do you just fine and in most cases wont even need that.

Corsair vs G.Skill....they are both great brands and being an owner of both brands at one point I can tell you either will work wonderfully.
I use 16 gb. The motherboard determines what speed the ram runs in; just match the ram in pairs. I bought two 8 gb kits for a total of 16 gb. Get the stuff on sale with rebates. I got 8 gb of patriot gamers for $23.50 after rebate, and the 16 gb for $70, which is gskill ripjaws. 16 gb is good for video work, but don't spend too much. Microcenter in stores only has the best deal right now for 8 gb of patriot 1333; it's only $9.99 after $25 rebate.
